The Tree Project

Members can order from The Tree Project each year

Tree Project Victoria is a voluntary organisation that organises Volunteer growers of indigenous seedlings to sell at a very reasonable cost, to interested groups, individuals and government bodies.

They grow, distribute and plant healthy indigenous seedlings to return sustainable ecosystems to the Victorian landscape. There are opportunities for business investment in environmental restoration also. Support is provided to landholders, Landcare groups, Shire councils etc to achieve these goals.

Tree Project values engagement of rural and urban communities for environmental restoration and encourages volunteers to grow ordered seedlings. All necessary information and equipment is given to the volunteer growers. Several Fish Creek Landowners have grown their own seedlings for their property restoration.

Fish Creek Landcare has accessed 6000 seedlings over the past 2 years to distribute to interested members at a very small cost. Orders from members have ranged from 50-500, and planting help has been available from the group and Tree Project volunteer planters.

We encourage our members to be volunteer growers for the group. It is a very rewarding activity and helpful to the group. We recommend all our members obtain more information about Tree Project and how to become a grower, by accessing their website.

The Fish Creek Landcare group acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the Fish Creek Landcare area and pays respect to their past and present Elders. We honour and celebrate their spiritual, cultural and customary connection to country and the biodiversity that forms part of that country.
